German Pork Stew
INGREDIENTS:2 yellow onions PREPARATION: Peel onion. Cut into wedges. In a skillet, melt butter. Add onion. Saute, stirring, over medium heat until soft and lightly browned. Transfer onion to a heavy pan. Add sauerkraut, water and cumin. Bring to a boil. Cover. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes. In a skillet, quickly brown Canadian bacon. Transfer to pan with sauerkraut. Bring to a boil again. Cook, covered, for another 6 to 8 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately.
